Did you know that on everyone's face there is an average of
300,000 pores, most of which aren't noticeable to the naked eye?! Sounds a
little bit too much don't you think ?
Pores are tiny places on the surface of the skin that serve
as outlets for oil and sweat. The pores on the face tend to be the most
noticeable and the most prone to clogs and other problems.
Today I will let you know which are the factors that
determine the size of our pores and if we can can minimize them and improve the
look of the skin.
We all want soft, smooth pore- less skin don't we ?
With constant exposure to pictures of airbrushed
celebrities, it is hard not to get a little obsessive over pore size and there
are certainly plenty of products out there promising to minimize or reduce
large pores.
If you're having large pores, your instinct might be to try
to cover them up with cosmetics, or you may go the opposite route and think
makeup is something to avoid. But if you pick the right products and follow a
few tips, you can wear makeup without making your large pores worse -- and you
just might be able to make them appear smaller.
The bad news is that you can't do anything to permanently
shrink large skin pores. The good news is that there are ways you can make them
look smaller.
The key to making pores appear smaller is to keep them
clear. During the day, stick with non- comedogenic moisturizers and makeup;
avoid products that contain heavy ingredients, like petrolatum and mineral oil,
both of which may irritate pores and make them look bigger.
Unfortunately, most of the factors that determine pore size
are beyond your control. That is quite frustrating , I know .
Something that you never thought of, maybe, is that the
circumference of the clean unclogged pore is determined by genetics, in other
words skin heredity is responsible for your pores. People with oily skin tend
to have larger pores while people with dry skin generally have smaller pores.
Other factors that influence pore size :
Climate and season, can influence the size of our pores. Sebum becomes more fluid in hot, humid weather, so you may notice that your
pores expand in summer and contract during winter .
Hormonal fluctuations, can step up oil production in puberty
and pregnancy and your pores can appear lager.
Another factor you can’t fight with it is age. As your skin
loses elasticity, the openings of your pores will relax and appear larger. UV
rays and pollution speed up the aging process and also they are well known as
pore dilators and this is a good reason to stay out of the sun.
Unfortunately there is no magic elixir to shrink pores but
we can help them to appear smaller.Wash your face, exfoliate, use pore strips,
minimize sun exposure and try oil-absorbing makeup.
If you are looking to minimize the appearance of your pores with home remedies you can try aloe vera gel, cucumber juice, egg white, lemon juice and white clay masks.
Do you think your skin has large pores? What have you been using against clogged and large pores ?
