Pixi Beauty Vitamin C Skincare Collection and a lot of skin care talk

For the past month I have been using the new products from the Pixi Beauty Vitamin C Collection. I wanted to take time to enjoy these special skin care treats and see if they really work or not for my skin and if there are any visible improvements in my skin texture, elasticity and the hyperpigmentation I struggle with.

Vitamin C has excellent anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties and it can significantly lighten hyperpigmentation without altering the pigment of normal skin. Hyperpigmentation is a common skin issue, often harmless. There are different factors that can cause hyperpigmantation, including UV sun exposure and heat, certain types of medication, irritation from chemical peals or microdermabrasion and even hormonal changes.

Pixi Beauty has a complete Vitamin C Skin Care Collection, from cleanser and tonic to a very special balm and serum.

 
Pixi Vitamin C- Juice Cleanser with orange flower water. This is a brightening, antioxidant cleansing water that doesn't need to be rinsed. It will not remove a full face of makeup, best to use it last in your cleansing ritual to prepare your skin for further vitamin C products. This gentle yet potent Vitamin C cleansing water has ferulic acid and probiotics to preserve and protect skin and it's rich in all kinds of citrus extracts and citrus oils. Perfect as a morning or second cleanse this is the right product to use if you want to introduce your skin to a Vitamin C regimen for the first time. I personally prefer to use this Vitamin C-Juice Cleanser in the morning  and follow up with the Pixi Vitamin C Tonic.

I was reading that a lot of people found this Vitamin C-Juice Cleanser useless as it doesn't remove makeup or dirt but I honestly think this is a well thought product, not meant to remove makeup but to prepare your skin for further Vitamin C products and to "accommodate" skin for a higher Vitamin C concentration.
Pixi Vitamin C Tonic is instantly refreshing! Rich in citrus extract and ferulic acid, this tonic evens out skin tone, improves hydration and shields your skin from free radicals. I find it very mild but still effective, and like I said very refreshing. Love to use it in the morning as it's also uplifting due to the aromatic citrus smell. It can be used morning and evening and it's suitable for all skin types.

Both products, the Vitamin C Juice Cleanser and the Tonic are rich in botanical ingredients, among all kinds of citrus extracts and oils, there is also tea tree and peppermint extract, all these ingredients can cause mild irritations and allergies in some people and I strongly advise you to check the ingredient list really good before use.

Pixi Vitamic C Serum, a miracle worker described online by some beauty editors.

Formulated with potent and antioxidant rich Vitamin C, grapefruit water, ferulic acid, citrus fruit extracts and Retinol this formula helps to boost collagen production for healthier and firmer skin. Improving skin tone and texture, adding luminosity and protection against free radicals and the effects of sun damage. 

This serum has a light and non sticky texture and it absorbs very fast in my skin. I am not really a fan of the way this serum smells, I can only smell bitter citrus peal and grapefruit.

I thought Vitamin C and Retinol don't work good together as they work optimally at different pH levels and should typically not be combined, according to several dermatologists. I was very surprised to see these 2 (vitamin C and Retinol ) in the same bottle !

According to skin experts from Paulas's  Choice, Vitamin C (depending on the form ) paired with Retinol makes sense and work best together, as Vitamin C will make the Retinol  be more effective. Apparently there has been conducted new research I am not aware of and it seems like a combination of vitamins, A-C -E is the way to achieve the best results.


I wish Pixi mentioned (somewhere - on their site or on the packaging) the concentration level for the Vitamin C and also for the Retinol, used for this serum. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find such information.

I am really happy I had no skin irritations induced by this Pixi Vitamin C Serum, no breakouts or redness. I used this serum in the morning, after the Vitamin C Toner 4 times a week for a month. I noticed a pleasant difference in my skin texture, my skin appears to be more luminous and more balanced. 

When it comes to fading scars and lightening up my hyperpigmentation , might take a longer time to see a difference as this process is very different from people to people due to their skin tone.

I will continue to use this Pixi Vitamin C Serum because I saw it helps me get a smoother complexion and I love the the immediate boost of radiance and glow I got from it.

Pixi Vitamin C Caviar Balm is my favorite product from this entire Vitamin C skin care collection. Described as an encapsulated leave-on vitamin mask with a potent antioxidant powder, this balm simply melts into the skin. It smells much better than the Vitamin C Serum and despite the fact that is labeled as a balm, it has a lovely light and creamy texture that you don't even feel on your skin once is melted on. The balm is rich in shea butter and glycerin and it has a bit more triglycerides, making the balm more suitable for people with dry skin.

Absolutely love this product and like to use it on a daily base, usually in the evening and I wake up to gorgeous and radiant skin. Extremely nourishing without being too heavy or clogging my pores. Leaves my skin feeling hydrated, looking fresh and feeling happy.


Pixi Vitamin C Lotion is a brightening moisturizer that features almost the same ingredients as the Pixi Vitamin C Balm  but with a different consistency, lighter texture and less fatty ingredients -making this product suitable also for people prone to oiliness.

This Vitamin C lotion smells just like the balm- slightly citrusy, has no greasy feeling and gets absorbed into the skin very fast. My skin looks very smooth and dewy whenever I use this lotion. This product is perfect for summer months, light and fresh and a must have if you want  to boost your glow and promote a healthy luminous complex.

I genuinely love and use these Pixi products and, they work very nice and added luminosity to my skin without causing any kind of irritations.
