Sukin - Naturally derived, cruelty free and vegan skincare

A while ago when I was browsing the internet, looking to change my skincare to a more natural, non toxic and vegan type, I discovered Sukin. At first I thought it was something Japanese or Korean but when I looked into it I found out that Sukin is made in Australia.

Before I buy skincare or makeup I like to find out a little bit about the brand and their vision and values, if they test on animals or if they use recyclable packaging. I dont know if most people look up these things before they decide to buy cosmetics, but for me brand philosophy is quite important. More important than what is trending on Instagram or in online beauty editorials. Looking into a brand philosophy should be just as important as checking the ingredient list before you buy something.

I LOVE THE SIMPLE PHILOSOPHY behind Sukin: all their formulations are 100% Carbon Neutral, biodegradable and grey water safe. All of the products produced by Sukin are Australian made with ingredients that are naturally derived, cruelty free and vegan.

You might think this article is sponsored but it's not; I think it's about time that we promote for free the love of natural and healthy companies that really show respect for the environment and and for us as clients. I wish I was able to find their products at my Holland & Barrett and if that would ever happen I will probably get everything they sell. So far I was able to shop for some of their products online at various retailers but it's been difficult to find the products I wanted, especially the ones from the new super green range.
I bought my first Sukin products about a year ago, and since then I got addicted because they are really nice; absolutely lovely for my sensitive and always annoyed skin. I did not expect that my skin will love these products, but it really did and it was visible.

Today in my skin care are 6 different Sukin products. Just 6 because, like I said, it was difficult to find it on stock online. I will talk  briefly about 2 products, as to not make this article overly long.

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner 125ml

This is a alcohol-free Hydrating Mist Toner that combines Rosewater and Chamomile to help soothe, purify and cool tired skin. It can be used after cleansing, before and after make-up application or any other time your skin is feeling tired, stressed or overheated. Only today I found out that this product got a beauty award and I dont know why but I am not surprised at all. It smells lovely and it feels so refreshing, I love to spray it over my makeup.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Rosa Damascena Flower Water (Rose), Glycerin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract (Chamomile), Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol.

Sukin Facial Moisturiser 125 ml

This is a daily Facial Moisturiser that hydrates and softens skin through a beautiful blend of Rosehip, Avocado, Sesame Seed and Jojoba Oils. Soothing Aloe Vera refreshes the skin, while Wheat Germ and Vitamin E assist with improving texture and protecting the skins' moisture barrier. The skin is left feeling nourished and hydrated.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil (Rose Hip), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Equisetum Arvense Extract (Horsetail) , Arctium Lappa Root Extract (Burdock), Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Vanillin, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Limonene*, Linalool*.

*Natural component of essential oils.

I am really happy that it was easy to find the detailed ingredient list for these products, I think it's quite upsetting when a company doesn't display all the ingredients. Why hide it?
You might want to carefully read the ingredient lists before you decide to use a botanical and natural product and see if you are allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients or plant extracts.

This moisturizer has no SPF and that doesn't bother me at all, I actually prefer to use a moisturizer without SPF and to use a special SPF product when it's needed. I also used this cream in my night routine, mixed with a few drops of rose hip oil (also from Sukin). I never got breakouts or redness or any other kinds of irritations from this product. It gives a special softness to my skin; it provides regeneration and a lovely glow. Since I used this moisturizer my skin is more balanced and less sensitive. It's also an excellent makeup base and it's suitable for all skin types. It smells a little bit herby, but I kinda like the smell.
The 125 ml lasted me a long time, I dont think I ever had a facial moisturizer of this size!  When I bought it, I was a bit like: "Hmm, but what if my skin won't like or it will break me out?". If that had happened, I was going to use it as a body lotion or just on my legs :).

I personally think that natural cosmetics are more gentle on the skin, they are eco-friendly, nutrient-rich and the risk of exposure to toxic and heavy metals is much lower or none.

Do you use any natural cosmetics in your beauty routine ?
