Get the Look - Eau de Rose Smokey Eyes

Like the little black dress smoky eye is timelessly sexy. There are many ways and techniques for achieving great smokey eyes but it does not have to be complicated or time consuming. Here are some products and some easy steps that will help you achieve a glamorous and simple smokey eye look.

To ensure that your makeup stays put use an eye primer because nothing is worse than a smokey eye that travels, smears, and settles into fine lines. Use a pencil liner to trace your top lash line from the inner corner to the outer. For an extra-sultry effect, line your inner bottom lash line, too.

Product review: Patchouli Lavender Vanilla hand cream from Sabon

Sabon, bath-and body line was born in 1997 in Israel with its handmade lavender soap. The line has an air of luxury, thanks to its pretty vintage golden packaging.  All the soaps, candles, and pretty ceramics are handmade. The rest of the products are not.

Today I want to introduce you to a great luxurious hand cream from Sabon:
Patchouli Lavender Vanilla hand cream. A great unisex lotion, with a light and non greasy texture makes dry, chapped hands inexcusable.

Gently enriched with essential oils, silicone, vitamin E and C, this yummy experience will leave your hands, nails and cuticles feeling fresh and smooth and looking significantly younger.
When you are  a make-up artist, your hands need to be extra soft at touch, clean and nice smelling. Nobody will enjoy a pair of smelly dry rough hands on their face.

DIY Homemade Brown Sugar Lips Scrub

To achieve beautiful lips you need to exfoliate them and eliminate dry, flaky skin to leave behind lips ridiculously soft and supple.
Find out how simple it is to make your own organic natural delicious lip scrub at home with things you already have in your kitchen counter like brown sugar, honey, extra virgin oil (olive oil, grape seeds oil, coconut oil, almond oil) and 1 drop of essential oil (mint, orange, jasmine, vanilla).

Brown sugar crystals blend together with biologic honey and oil to create the perfect conditions for smooth skin.Brown sugar not only tastes fantastic, it is also a great natural exfoliant because it’s not too harsh and leaves skin soft to the touch.Sweet and smooth, honey is a humectant, that will attract and hold moisture naturally.

Update to orange lips !

This summer the new red lipstick is orange, but in my opinion orange isn't a new version of anything, it's just orange and it is the lip color of the moment.

Mat or glossy; orange lipstick is a new make-up trend that will brighten up your face and  your summer. All you need to know is how to rock and wear stunning bright orange lips without looking exaggerated or like a sad clown.
Everywhere on the runway I spotted orange, so much orange that it made me wanna wear it. But how do we actually wear this bright lip shade out of the fashion-catwalk–life?

After I tried 20 shades of orange lipstick on myself and almost got crazy as I could not find something that made me happy, I realized it's better to go for a shade that has more red in it and not so much yellow. Neon orange and orange with a yellow undertone is not so flattering if you have a non-fashion-model face, and to be honest I don't have such a face and probably a lot of you are in the same situation. In the picture above I am wearing Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick 14 Fruity Orange and in one of the pictures I used to fill in my lips with an orange lip-liner (from there comes the soft color difference). I love the texture of the lipstick but as you can see this orange peachy shade is not very flattery for my skin and hair tone, as it has to much yellow in it.

Product review: Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging CC Cream

Estée Lauder is definitely one of my favorite beauty brands, so I was dying to test this product!

After the BB Cream and CC Cream invasion we all know the difference between these two products. CC Cream stands for Complexion or Color Correction Cream, a combination of skincare and makeup that helps to even out your skin tone, and is mainly for mature skin. Usually CC Creams have more skincare agents in them and are less pigmented than BB Creams. CC creams are also characterized by their ability to change color and adapt to your skin tone, so I was not surprised at all when I opened the tube and saw the color and texture of Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging CC Cream.

Toxic kiss and poisoned lips?

I love lipstick and so do many of you. We all use it on a daily base and we apply it several times a day, some of us prefer the lighter and shinier version of a lipstick, the lip-gloss! We all bother with the color and the texture but not many of us bother to know what we ingest because of this beauty addiction.I also never looked much into lipstick as I always have so many other things to look deep into, but as the cosmetic scandals are back and because lately I have developed some chemistry cosmetic obsession I took time to do some lip-service investigation.Lipstick and lip-gloss are often ingested over the course of the day so the impact of any toxin is heightened above and beyond skin absorption levels.
Both Canada and the European Union regulate allowable levels of heavy metals in cosmetics. The European Union has banned the presence of cadmium, chromium and lead altogether in cosmetics, but there is still a poor regulation regarding cosmetics and that why it was found concerning levels of nine heavy metals in many of the lip products, no matter what brand they were or how much they cost.

Is alcohol in cosmetics safe or not?

I thought we should have a bit of a cosmetic chemistry lesson today as it might be really useful to know how to identify nasty ingredients in our skincare.

Is alcohol in cosmetics safe or not?

We all try to avoid it as much as possible but many of us don’t know that are many types of alcohol: the good ones and the nasty ones. In benign form alcohols are glycols used as humectants that help deliver ingredients into skin. When fats and oils are chemically reduced, they become a group of less-dense alcohols called fatty alcohols that can have emollient properties or can become detergent cleansing agents. No matter your skin-care concerns, alcohol as a main ingredient in any skin-care product is a problem.
The nasty ones have low molecular weights. These include ethanol, denatured alcohol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and SD alcohol, which not only can be extremely drying and irritating to skin but also cytotoxic.
