Tips for a perfect flawless fake tan!

If you want to protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun (i.e., wrinkles, brown spots, or, worse, skin cancer), the only safe glow is one that comes from a bottle.Nowadays we have new tanning formulations that dry quickly, show up instantly, and can be washed off in as little as an hour, so why not to rock sexy bronzed skin all year long ?

Below you will find all the tips and tricks necessary for the perfect self-tan application.

1. The most important step in getting the perfect fake tan is exfoliation ! You don't want to apply fake tan on dead skin, that will be a disaster for sure. Always prepare your skin and start with exfoliation in the shower, be sure you removed all the dead skin cells that get in the way of your even tan application. Pay extra attention to really dry spots like your elbows and knees.

2.Don't apply fake tan products on fresh shaved/waxed legs, as your skin will become sensitized and it can reactivate to the tanning formulation, also don't shave/wax your legs after you applied your tan.
3.Use an Application Mitt to ensure your hands stay safe and protected whilst providing you with a smoother and better defined tan.

4. Start at your feet and move upwards from there, there’s no point bronzing your upper half only to have it rub and crease as you bend down to reach the lower areas. Feet to knees; knees to thighs; stomach and chest; arms; back; neck.

5.Your face may need more frequent applications than your body, because cells renew faster on your face, but don't use more than necessary because a very dark skin on your face might look wired. If you use a skin-care product that contains anti aging or acne ingredients like retinol and glycolic, alpha hydroxy, and salicylic acids, apply them before self-tanner.

6.To get the most longevity of your tan: moisturize all the way, every day !

7. If you exfoliated and you also applied the sunless tanning carefully but still end up with areas that are too dark (on your hands, ankles, wrists or any other body tricky parts of your body) you can lighten up the color by applying hydrogen peroxide, baking soda or a bit of lemon juice.

8.At the end of the tanning process put a dab of tanner on the top of each hand and rub them together so they're not completely pale.

9.If you find your nails have managed to tan along with you, just soak them in some lemon juice and they’ll be tan free in no time.

10.Be sure to avoid contact with all water until your tan has thoroughly dried. Take short, cool showers, then pat—don't rub—yourself dry with the towel.

11.Always do a spot test for allergies with this type of products, before you decide to put it all over your body and face ! Discontinue use if irritation or rash appear. Avoid contact with eyes while you apply the lotion on your face.

.........Still afraid to use fake tan ? I hope not :)
