Pixi Skintreats New Glow Collection

Pixi introduced a new glow collection, a skin care collection based on the famous and probably most popular acid used in skincare, Glycolic acid.

Glycolic acid is the holy grail for exfoliation, this acid is derived from sugar cane and belongs to the AHA family, along with malic acid and lactic acid. It has the smallest molecule from the AHA family and because of that it can penetrate skin very fast, breaking apart that glue that holds dead skin cells together. This acid also has the ability to get down into the hair follicles and loosen up any build up sebum and proteins that could lead to the formation of blackheads and acne. It helps with exfoliation but it also helps to stimulate new collagen, it makes skin look more youthful and smooth and gives a better absorption for other acne medication like Retinol or for anti-aging antioxidants like Vit. C.

Since I introduced Pixi Glow Tonic in my skin care ritual (2 years ago) I am completely free of cystic acne and if you are still struggling with this terrible skin problem you should definitely introduce Glycolic acid in your skincare, in a small concentration- below 10%.

Glycolic acid can also increase sun sensitivity, risk of sunburn, cause redness and skin irritation, and even unwanted skin discoloration. The use of glycolic acid in high concentrations can cause skin scarring. Remember to always put sunscreen on while using any of the AHA acids and avoid prologue sun exposure.

Pixi Glow Collection has a cleanser, the iconic glow tonic, a glow serum, a hydrating gel and a fancy and very cool moisturizer with Vit. D2.

Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel - this hydrating gel removes impurities without stripping the skin of essential moisture. It has a unique blend of ingredients- glycolic acid, horse chestnut extract, aloe and ginseng, apple fruit extract, kiwi fruit extract, grape fruit extract, orange fruit extract, grapefruit extract, witch hazel, pineapple fruit extract, allantoin, panthenol. This cleanser is not only hydrating but also purifying and it can be used AM and PM daily.

Pixi Glow Tonic 5% Glycolic Acid is the most iconic Pixi product and also the first Pixi product I ever bought and used. Suitable for all skin types, it got several beauty awards. This tonic, balances, heals and soothes the skin like no other toner. It gently accelerates skins renewal to reveal a brighter, more radiant and healthy complexion. Refines the appearance of pores, exfoliates and prepares the skin for further treatments.

The second main ingredient for this amazing tonic is aloe vera leaf juice to hydrate and soothe the skin. Other important ingredients are: glycolic acid with a concetration of 5%, witch hazel leaf extract, horse chestnut seed extract, aspartic acid, ginseng root extract, urea and castor oil.

Pixi Glow Serum is a lightweight serum treatment that gently exfoliates, but also hydrates and nourish the skin. With just 2 drops of this serum, my skin gets very soft and smooth.I prefer to use this serum only PM, because the use of glycolic acids in skincare increases sun sensitivity. This serum has glycerin, arginine, cucumber fruit extract, aloe vera leaf extract, ginseng root extract, lecithin of course glycolic acid.

Pixi pHenomenal Gel is a balancing and pH neutralizer gel. This product is without glycolic acid. It has aloe vera leaf gel and horse chestnut, citric acid, ascorbic acid, camellia sinensis leaf extract, ginseng root extract, blueberry fruit extract, witch hazel extract, vit.E  allantoin and panthenol.

Definitely inspired from Korean  beauty and skincare, also made in Korea, this pH balancing/neutralizer gel is very calming and soothing to my dry skin. It has a pleasant and light texture and it doesn't leave a sticky film behind.

Pixi On-The-Glow Moisturizer  looks like a deodorant stick and it can be used on face, body, lips and hair. Just wow! Very cool and versatile!

I absolutely love the idea of a solid moisturizer that can be used even on lips not just on face. Formulated with a unique mix of vit. D2, gentle acids and vitamins to protect, treat and increase moisture levels immediately and on long term.

Just like the other products from this glow collection, Pixi On-The-Glow Moisture Stick has glycolic acid, aloe vera, horse chestnut, ginseng and witch hazel.

What do you think about this new Pixi Glow Skintreats Collection? Is there any product from this collection you would like to try?
